It's not just a dream, it's a reality
Many of the kids that we work with are gifted students, but too often we see them fall short of their potential. They may not always receive the same opportunities or have people in their lives to advocate for them. Citychurch knows that we have been called to help transform lives.
We understand that education is important, which is why Citychurch is committed to make it happen. We take the students on college tours, help them with college applications and schedules. We also work with them to help find more resources and funds, which will make this transition easier and more successful.
In 2010 Citychurch began giving out college scholarships to our graduating seniors.
College diplomas and business opportunities are the ultimate goal.
Scholarships are just one of the many ways we show the kids that we believe in their futures. This program has already made a huge impact that will continue for generations to come.
We believe that education is one of the most important ways that we can help our students. Each year we take a number of high school students to visit college campuses. A big part of impacting their future is opening their eyes to all of the possibilities!
Linda "Whitt" Cardwell went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 4, 2020. Ms Whitt was a very special volunteer who had a gift for reaching out and connecting with every student. We have named our scholarship fund in honor of our beloved friend Whitt Cardwell. Ms. Whitt was an educator who loved all kids. She always took the time to make each child feel valued and heard. Her desire was to see them all succeed. Whitt was adored by everyone and will be greatly missed. You can contribute to the Whitt Cardwell Scholarship at the link below!
